Creator of Bitcoin

Satoshi Nakamoto the Mysterious Inventor of Bitcoin

One of the biggest mysteries in the technology world remain is the identity of the creator of Bitcoin, the digital currency. Since its invention in 2009 it is still a billion dollar question who is the creator of the Bitcoin? Is he actually a single person or a group of enthusiast?

History of Bitcoin began on 31 October 2008, when one Satoshi Nakamoto posted a nine page white paper titled, Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System, on a cryptography mailing list. This post attract many as it discussed a completely new concept in the digital currency technology, the Blockchain. It has proposed to store the transaction data throughout the net work, fully encrypted and decentralized with out any central authorization.

However, experimenting in new forms of currency is not new altogether. One Bernard von NotHaus discovered “Liberty Dollars” in 1998. This led him six months of house arrest charged with violating federal law. In 2007, E-Gold, one of the first digital currencies, was shut down for government opposition on grounds of money laundering.

E-Gold founder Doug Jackson wanted to solve the world’s economic woes, but got an electronic ankle bracelette for his trouble.

Hence, the writer of the paper Bitcoin, did not reveled his identity. Satoshi Nakamoto – is a pseudonym. It could be a man, a woman, or even a group of coder.

Nakamoto claimed that he had began writing of the code in 2007. A few months later after the reliese of the white paper, Nakamoto released bitcoin’s first software and partnered with developers online to improve it. In January 2009, Nakamoto mined the first block of the chain, known as the genesis block .

The first person received the bitcoin transaction was Hal Finney, who created the first reusable proof-of-work system in 2004. He downloaded the bitcoin software on its release date, and on 12 January 2009 received 10 bitcoins from Nakamoto.

Nakamoto was active in the development of bitcoin, along with other on line collaborator, up until December 2010, after then he vanished without warning.

As the popularity of the bitcoin spreads, people try to find out the genius behind it. In the Wikipedia we get a list of at least 13 potential person as the creatior of Bitcoin.

Reporters camped outside Dorian Nakamoto’s house. He was a physicist at Cal Poly University in Pomona and worked as a systems engineer on classified defense projects and computer engineer for technology and financial information services companies. He hower, declined the claimed and had said he had no connection with the bitcoin.

3. A Russian or Chinese agent

Some said, NSA has track down Satoshi Nakamot. The NSA’s proprietary software, bulk email collection ability, and computing power had made it possible for them to conclusively identify Satoshi.
As it is not clear whether NSA determined he was an agent of Russia or China or just a Japanese crypto hacker. The report said, Obama administration was concerned that Satoshi was an agent of Russia or China — that Bitcoin might be weaponized against us in the future.

A 2017 article said about the possibility of SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk as the real Satoshi, based on his technical expertise with financial software and history of publishing whitepapers. However, in a statement, Elon Musk himself denied the claim.

6. A Group of Companies

Many have considered Nakamoto actually a group of people: Security researcher Dan Kaminsky, who read the bitcoin code, said that Nakamoto could either be a “team of people” or a “genius”.

As the creator of Bitcoin remain anonymous, people thought, it have good reason: it is obvious by maintaining anonymity, they’ve avoided adverse legal consequences, and anonymity is partially responsible behind the success of the digital currency.

Latest update: After 4 years of inactivity on 29 November, Thursday, the account at P2P Foundation of the person or persons who invented bitcoin has posted a single word “nour”, in Arabic which means Light. Before posting this status he befriended one Wagner Tamanaha, a Brazilian of Japanese descent. Now tech world are debating whether the email used by Satoshi Nakamoto to sign up to P2P Foundation – satoshin@gmx.com has been hacked, or people going to witness the end of the modern-day folklore that surrounds the real identity of Nakamoto.
